The focus is real, ongoing self-development

Tam is the author of The Art of Tarot (Peacock & Owl Publishing, May 2025). She is updating her memoir Walking with the Fool and developing a series on self-development for practitioners. TAM’S FULL STORY

Tam Dillon is a seasoned self-development mentor, practitioner and author whose path began in her teens, guided by a deep fascination with ancient spiritual traditions and divination systems. What began with Tarot evolved into a lifelong calling — one that has carried her through more than two decades of full-time practice.

In her early years, Tam offered intuitive readings and energy-based work, known for her grounded, no-nonsense approach to spiritual tools. Seeking greater depth, she left her home country of South Africa and relocated to Vietnam, eventually settling in Hanoi. There, she founded a dedicated Tarot café in the city’s Old Quarter — a quiet, intentional space for seekers from all walks of life.

In 2019, Tam retired from public readings, completed formal mindfulness training, and shifted into teaching. That same year, she released The Art of Tarot, later revised in 2021 and again in 2025 through The Peacock and the Owl. The book reflects her evolved approach to Tarot as a tool for self-awareness, ethics, and grounded practice.

Her memoir, Walking with the Fool, first published in 2017 and refined through 2022, traces her own development as a practitioner — from receiving her gifts and navigating early initiations, to facing burnout and finding renewed integrity. The book is currently out of print while undergoing deep revision.

Tam’s continuing studies include certifications in counselling skills, applied psychology, happiness coaching, and yoga. After relocating to the United States to join her husband — whom she met in Hanoi — she completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training and began developing The Yogic Tarot, a system that bridges yogic philosophy with the archetypes of Tarot, now shared through her YouTube channel.

Following a period of burnout in 2023, Tam gained renewed clarity on her purpose: mentoring practitioners — those with gifts, those called to service, those who hold space for others yet often forget to hold space for themselves. She now works exclusively with healers, intuitives, and space-holders, offering mentoring focused on boundaries, resilience, and integration.

Tam’s mission is simple: to help practitioners stay grounded and whole while doing their work in the world. Through mentoring, writing, and teaching, she creates spaces for honest self-inquiry and sustainable growth. This is not surface-level spirituality. It is the real work of walking with integrity — and Tam’s role is to guide those ready to live it.
